In March, the popular French show “Pot-Pourri” on CIUT FM and the Department of French (Saint George) and the Department of Language Studies (Mississauga campus) at the University of Toronto will celebrate the annual Month of the Francophonie and CIUT’s 30th anniversary with the launch of "CIUT 89.5 FM Celebrating 30 years… Representing The Sound of Your City"

Please come join us on Wednesday, March 22nd from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Hart House to celebrate the diversity of “la francophonie” and the committed and amazing volunteers and donors who have helped advance CIUT’s mission over the years through generous financial support.

Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be opened.

Since 1988, University of Toronto Campus Radio, CIUT FM and Pot Pourri Show have been celebrating the Month of "la Francophonie" in partnership with a wide range of partners in Canada and around the world. However, this year CIUT FM and the one and only French program at CIUT, Pot – Pourri”, celebrate its 30th birthday with plenty of events and special programming suitable for all ages and audiences.

Firmly rooted in the University of Toronto community, CIUT FM’s programming reaches and represents the community at large and encompasses a wide panorama of styles and expressions. CIUT entertains and informs listeners from Barrie to Buffalo, Kitchener to Cobourg, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The French Show “Pot - Pourri “is broadcasted in partnership with the French Department, le CREFO(OISE), University of Toronto (both Toronto and Mississauga campus), and Radio France International on Sundays from 11:00AM to 1:00PM.

At CIUT FM we feel we've earned the right to call ourselves Real Radio. Every day volunteers and donors keep us broadcasting the news, music and information that you won't hear on commercial radio stations.

  • March 5 : Launch with members of the francophone community and OASIS Centre des femmes celebrating International Women's Day
  • March 13 : "Cocktail-ciné" for all francophones of UofT Mississauga campus at 6:00 PM
  • March 16 :  "Talent Night" on Campus in Mississauga, UofT at 6:00 PM
  • March 19 :International Francophone Day (held on March 20, 2017) Special broadcast live from the Map Room – Hart House.  Artists, faculty members, writers, and francophone correspondents around the world. Special guest: Njacko Backo, Master of Kalimba, Kalimba, educator and performer.
  • March 21, 22, 23, 24« Celebrate the first glorious days of Spring and la Francophonie with croissants » 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the French Department, UofT - Odette Hall, 50 St. Joseph Street, Toronto (FREE)
  • March 22: Cocktail CIUT 89.5 FM “Celebrating 30 years...Representing The Sound of Your City" / "30 Years of French Programming With Pot-Pourri Show on CIUT 89.5FM”, Hart House, 2nd Fl., Music Room at 7:00 PM, 7 Hart House Circle. UofT.
